Good evening, John. You're looking at the implosion, the destruction of the remaining two towers of the Tropicana, the storied... the hanging out there and helping to bring it about to the various shows and entertainers who were there

over the years.

It had become old and, you know, really threadbare in every way and when they talked

about bringing the Oakland A's to Las Vegas, they needed to build a stadium for the team and they said, we've got the perfect spot for you.

So early Wednesday morning, about 2.30 a.m.

they imploded the two towers with tens of thousands,

if not hundreds of thousands of people watching it it was very

it was spectacular they were worried about asbestos why well because when the

the buildings were you know constructed

asbestos was part of uh... a lot of what went on in american construction at that time

and even though they cleared a lot of things out and essentially the only things

that were remaining for the implosion were these two shells of these towers that were there.

There was feeling that there might be some that was locked in the concrete and other parts of the building,

and when they blow it blow it up the dust is emitted from it and spreads out

over quite a distance but the authority said no that wasn't a problem they'd

already removed it there are a lot of people with
