And it turns out, Jeremy is my guide. I've come up on a phenomenon in cricket that didn't exist much

before I showed up. It's called Basbaugh. And every time, it's Dracula. Every time you think it's dead,

somebody takes a wooden stake out of its heart, and it gets out of the coffin and comes back.

Right now, Basball is again in the minds of the English team. Jeremy, what is Basball?

Well, Basball really is a kind of a state of mind in cricket. In cricket, a lot of the game is played on strategy.

So it's a long-term strategy where you don't bat hard, you don't bowl hard, you figure out

what the other team's doing first and then change your tactics.

Bazball is actually the exact opposite. It was something developed by the English team, by one

of their coaches called Barry, which is where the name Baz comes from, which says that if you

actually come out

aggressively from the start, you basically try and hit the skin off every single ball really

quickly, you try and bow your hardest, you're fastest, and basically look really, really

aggressive and offensive from the start.

The psychological impact on your other team will actually mean that they'll crumble,

fall apart, be unable to mount a defense, and basically

lose every single game.

And you know what?

That does kind of sound like it rings a little bit of truth and sounds like, you know,

it may be a strategy that works.

Except the only problem is, John, that Bazball, to actually make the thing work, you actually

have to have a team that can not only basically play
