is that the darma practice is described

is that it's onward leading and implies movement. And there's two kinds of

movement that most characteristically represent the

darma. One is that of a, usually in English you say a path that we walk and the other is a current of the river that we float in that

carries us along. The path metaphor suggests that we have to engage, we have to

do something, we have to bring ourselves along, we have to walk, walk the path. The current and the

river current metaphor suggests that not so much we have to do except stay in the current and be carried by something.

And it's a significant point in the practice

when it shifts from one to the other. For people who are beginning, it can take

a lot of effort to a lot of walking, a lot of engaging in it. At some point, the onward

leading feels like it's almost innate and something is being carrying us.

There's something onward moving and what is that onward moving that we feel or sense?
