and I want to check in as we're towards the end of the week of this seven-day series

and I wonder how you're coming along with it.

Your challenge was to select someone who is difficult and to consciously send your

loving kindness to this person.

Now do this as best as you can

and know that this is after all a practice

it doesn't often come easily and that is why there are five stages of

loving kindness. It starts where we started in this week's series with stage one loving kindness to

yourself because when you can feel compassion for your own journey and love yourself knowing you're doing the best

you can, you're striving towards your highest, then you can share that beautiful part of yourself with friends.

And it's not so difficult to share loving kindness with people you like and who likely share compassion and kindness with you, and that is the

second stage.

Then it begins to progressively become a little more challenging, although stage 3 isn't so challenging,

because that's loving kindness with a neutral person, someone you don't really know.

So there are no strings attached.

You don't have to take anything personally,

but still, it is harder to love or feel compassion towards someone you don't
