Very difficult to judge where the major threat is, but right now an odd story that worries me.

Russia has put the Prime Minister of Estonia, Kales, Ms. Kales, on a wanted list for destroying Soviet-era memorials after the

invasion of Ukraine.

Estonia State Secretary said that he was also listed for, quote,

desecration of historical memory.

This is about the Second War, and the charge against,

by the Russian foreign ministry says, crimes against the memory of the world's

liberators from Nazism and fascism must be prosecuted. The reason I read this

because otherwise it could look like trash talking out of the Kremlin, we've seen that before,

is that it looks like an excuse, Brad.

We know that that is how the Kremlin works, an excuse to secure the Russian population, an excuse

to reclaim Novo Rasea, an excuse to protect the statues to the heroes of the Second War.

How do you read this threat against the Estonian Prime Minister?

John, I think it reveals once again what many of us already know and that is that the Kremlin does not

respect the independence and sovereignty of its neighbors. It views the Baltic countries, for example, as wayward republics that need to be reeled back in.

And that's, those are no flippant words, those are no menious words because as most of your listeners will know the Baltic countries are members of NATO unlike Ukraine and if Russia ever tries to make good on that goal which is undoubtedly I would say on Putin's shortlist if he believes he has the means to accomplish it

then what you essentially have is a triggering of Article 5 and you potentially have war between

the United States and Russia, something that Washington

was able to avoid direct conflict for decades during the Cold War.

So I believe this kind of portrays the truth and that is that the Kremlin doesn't respect the sovereignty of its neighbors including the Baltimore. the U.S. security assistance provided Ukraine, you know, roughly around 44 billion

dollars in committed security assistance, John. That's roughly 2.7 percent.
