Olaf Schultz visiting Washington, sat with the President of the United States in the

Oval Office and both exchanged greetings and support

for Ukraine for the funding for Ukraine to continue the resistance from Russia.

The Congress is hesitating. Olaf Schultz was gracious and he spoke

very forcefully about Germany's commitment to defending Ukraine. However, when the Chancellor

left Washington and arrived home, he did not find cheering for his

remarks about Ukraine.

He found instead that he is exceedingly unpopular because of decisions made not about war fighting but about commitments

that Germany's made over the years, not just Chancellor Schultz, but all of German governments, to net zero, to green, to climate change.
