Hannah Jewel. It's Monday, September 23rd. Let's get you caught up with today's seven stories.

Number one. Israel's military announced it would launch more strikes on Lebanon.

Israel said its fighter jets hit 150 targets in Lebanon this morning. A military spokesman called

for residents of southern Lebanon to evacuate or move away from areas where the militant

group Hezbollah could be operating. Attacks across the Israeli- Lebanese border have increased

since last week. That's when electronic devices including pagers belonging to Hezbollah exploded

across Lebanon in a presumed Israeli attack.

Yesterday President Joe Biden and UN officials called for restraint, fearing that the violence

could escalate into an all-out war.

UN Secretary General Antonio Gutierrez sat down with Fareed Zakaria of CNN yesterday.

He spoke about his concerns following the pager attack.

So the fact that these things existed

means that there is a potential for a much stronger escalation

and that is what concerns me.

The possibility of transforming Lebanon in another Gaza

which I think would be a devastating tragedy for the world.

Israel and Hezbollah have said they will continue to attack each other.

Israel says it will carry on until security is restored to Northern Israel

and Hezbollah says it will continue firing rockets until the war in Gaza ends. Number two, Donald Trump's campaign has entered a turbulent phase in its final weeks.
