It's Friday, September 20th. Let's get you caught up with today's seven stories.

Number one, Israel's military launched strikes on Lebanon.

Yesterday, Israel said its warplanes had struck rocket launchers and other infrastructure

belonging to the Iranian-backed militant group Hezbollah.

Israel and Hezbollah have been exchanging attacks since the war in Gaza began.

But this week there has been a major escalation.

Thousands of electronic devices belonging to Hezbollah exploded Tuesday and Wednesday in a presumed Israeli attack.

At least 37 people were killed and thousands were injured. The casualties included Hezbollah fighters but also some children,

medical workers, and others. Israeli authorities have declined to comment on whether Israel was responsible,

but U.S. officials have acknowledged that Israel was behind the attack.

Hezbollah called it an act of war and vowed to retaliate.

This week's events have dealt a blow to American efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and to reduce tensions in the Middle East.

Number two, Donald Trump said he would hold Jewish voters responsible if he loses the presidential election.

The Republican nominee made two campaign stops in D.C. yesterday.

One was at a summit on fighting anti-Semitism in America.

The second was at the Israeli-American Council National Summit.
