Let's get you caught up with today's seven stories.

Number one, Israel announced a daily pause in fighting along a key road in the Gaza Strip.

Yesterday's announcement was not for a ceasefire.

It's a tactical pause that will last from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day, and it will be limited to an aid

corridor in southern Gaza. The plan is meant to safeguard deliveries of

humanitarian relief. People in Gaza are facing mass malnutrition and famine

after more than eight months of war. The announcement came as Muslim families

in Gaza marked the beginning of a somber Edal-Adha holiday yesterday.

And it came two days after the U.S. announced it would again suspend the use of its temporary

peer in Gaza due to rough seas.

That peer was meant to deliver aid to starving Palestinians, but a UN official

said it has so far failed to supplement aid deliveries into Gaza in a meaningful way.

And in some breaking news this morning,

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahuyahu

announced that he had dissolved his government's war cabinet.

That's the emergency panel which has managed the war in Gaza so far.

Number two, a brutal heat wave will hit the eastern US this week.
