Summary

Be guided in a meditation to cultivate a life with balance.

Welcome to the "Living the Balanced Life" Meditation Series, a transformative journey dedicated to cultivating balance and well-being in every aspect of your life. In this series, we'll explore the art of harmonizing mind, body, and spirit to foster a sense of equilibrium and fulfillment.

Life often pulls us in different directions, and finding balance can be a challenge. Through these guided meditations, we aim to create a sanctuary where you can center yourself, tap into your inner wisdom, and discover the beauty of living in alignment with your truest self.

Each session will focus on specific aspects of life, offering mindfulness techniques, visualizations, and affirmations to promote balance. Whether you're seeking tranquility in the midst of chaos, balance in your relationships, or harmony in your daily routine, this series is designed to be your companion on the journey to a more balanced and centered life.

Join us as we embark on this exploration of "Harmony Within," and may you find serenity, balance, and a renewed sense of purpose along the way.

This is part 1 of a 7-part meditation series titled Living the Balanced Life, 1942-1948.

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE:

CHOP WOOD CARRY WATER QUEST

Focus on basic, everyday tasks—symbolized by chopping wood and carrying water—as a means to ground yourself so that external temptations that might compromise your integrity don't tempt you.

A DIFFERENT MEDITATION TECHNIQUE EVERY DAY FOCUSED ON A WEEKLY THEME:

You are guided with a different meditation technique every day that is customized for the week's theme. Weave the techniques into the most stressful times of your day to manage difficult emotions. The meditation techniques help to calm the "monkey mind," when your thoughts continuously interrupt your meditation.

Welcome to episode 1,942 of your daily meditation. I'm Mary Meckley and I welcome you to a series this week that I'm going to share with you and it's from my extensive collection of meditations. I've recorded over 3,000 guided meditations and I decided

0:28.3

to select a series for you into a new year as I record this series, you started off this brand new year laying the foundation

0:48.3

for the whole rest of your year.

0:50.8

Now many of you do not do resolutions, but many of you do resolutions.

0:56.0

You were encouraged to select a word of the year, to set the tone for the year and some examples of that word were joy or

1:08.7

peace or tenacity I heard that word. I also heard the word which I often hear

1:16.4

limitless or fearlessness. So your word of the year sets the tone for the year.

1:22.1

You were also encouraged to have a little fun

1:27.0

this year by selecting a totem for yourself or a mascot, something that represents you.

1:39.0

Many of you selected a tiger or a horse or even a rock to represent feeling grounded.

1:47.0

And I even heard of a happy Buddha being somebody's totem. Finally you were

1:56.8

encouraged to select a quest and this is something that you do that adds more meaning and purpose to your life

2:05.2

to take you out of the day-to-day mundane activities that you do, maybe your work and all the things you do, which can make you feel as though

2:17.6

you're on a hamster wheel.

2:19.6

So your quest is a way to have an adventure.

2:26.4

And many of you selected quests

2:29.6

where you travel somewhere,

2:31.0

for example, visit every state park in your local area, or to cook a new

2:38.3

menu every weekend, or to volunteer somewhere, or to learn a new language, something that you

2:46.7

commit yourself to doing that you don't necessarily have to do, but it's something that improves the quality of your life and you stick with it,

2:57.5

you make sure that you do it regularly.

3:00.6

Your quest can last this full year or it might even be a quest that lasts for several
