David Brooks is a respected New York Times columnist and brings us a metaphor that I find

incredibly powerful. He describes life as a journey of two mountains. The first mountain is about achieving

traditional success, your career, your status, financial security. But there's another possibility, a more important mountain, the second mountain. This is about finding your purpose beyond oneself.

I picked up this book because I kind of feel like I might be on my second mountain right now with the sale of my

in my life and in my business and I'm seeking new perspectives.
