Mati because she is a person who is both larger than life in terms of her impact on the

yoga world and her accomplishments and she's also one of the easiest people to

relate to and talk to and I sometimes wonder if this is because we're both

very small women and when we see each other we are immediately eye to eye and we just

make each other laugh. Here's a more formal way to describe Motti. If you've ever been to a vignasa flow

class that incorporates alignment, chances are you've been influenced by Motti.

Motti is one of the original co-founder of Yoga Works. She opened the studio in Los Angeles with Chuck Miller in 1985 and as she describes it, this was a time when people were a little suspicious of yoga. They thought it was weird, they

thought it was exotic and perhaps foreign, and it was her goal to bring yoga to everyday people because she believed and she still believes

that doing Yoga can help us to be better people who can make the world a better place.

Yoga Works grew to offer more than 120 classes per week serving more than 700 students per day,

and Motti directed in shape the teacher training program for over 16 years.
