What is a Trump put?

I welcome Elizabeth Peek, writes a column for the Hill, writes a column for Fox News,

because there's much excitement on Wall Street now and again, just like fly, you know,

hours of boredom and of 10 or 15 seconds of fear.

It used to be the Fed put.

Before that, it was the Greenspan put.

Now apparently it's Mr. Trump has the put.

What does it mean to have a put?

Well, I think coming into the Trump presidency, we saw

markets take off and do extremely well because the combined force of deregulation and lower tax cuts

was meant to propel business investment, make consumers confident, have all kinds of great outcomes for the

economy. And what you've seen, John, and I think it's a mistake on the part of the Trump

administration, is that they have moved forward with tariffs before those other things

really kicked in. So unfortunately, because the tariff chatter is so extremely negative
