| 0:00.0 | Welcome to episode 3,037 of the Daily Meditation Podcast. I'm Mary Meckley and I |
| 0:08.2 | welcome you to this week's new series. This is a series where you're continuing along with your journey as we |
| 0:17.7 | get ready to embark on the final week of this brand new year. |
| 0:23.7 | So as I record this, if you've been with me on this journey from day one of this new year, you've been guided through series to reflect on what it is you want to achieve |
| 0:39.6 | this year, not necessarily creating resolutions per se, but thinking about how you want to |
| 0:47.4 | feel, how you want to live your life this year, and you were encouraged to create a word to represent your year and to come up with a mascot. |
| 0:58.0 | So I know many of you reached out and let me know that your word was to feel more grounded and less distracted. |
| 1:07.4 | And so as a mascot, you selected a rock because that represented feeling grounded in your journey. Now many of you became really creative with this challenge and you came up with all kinds of words that are going to act as your anchor this year and some pretty interesting |
| 1:27.3 | mascots. You were also encouraged to think about a quest that you'd like to pursue and this isn't necessarily a |
| 1:38.0 | personal or career or relationship goal it has more to do with giving your life more meaning. |
| 1:47.8 | And this is often what we fail to do, and it's one of the main reasons why people do not pursue their goals and |
| 1:57.0 | resolutions. Last week if you're following this series in succession was the third week of a new year. |
| 2:08.0 | That is the time when most people give up on their goals and their dreams. |
| 2:13.7 | All those resolutions seem to fall by the wayside. |
| 2:17.6 | And it's because life sets in and despite your best intentions it's so easy to become distracted and to get back on the |
| 2:28.8 | treadmill you are on and so this is a week to help you get back on track to sustain what it is |
| 2:40.9 | you want to pursue in your life. So the theme is all about sustainable living. |
| 2:47.6 | And this is sustainability in regards to your day-to-day life because when you can become sustainable with your |
| 2:57.7 | daily actions and intentions then you'll notice that you can contribute more to living more sustainably out there in the |
| 3:07.6 | world. We often do the opposite. We come up with all these ways we're going to improve life around us. |
| 3:14.8 | You're going to join this group or that group or you're going to recycle more or |
| 3:19.1 | do this or that without really considering your personal habits or how you live your life day to day |
