And the virtue for today is humility with the opposing quality pride.

Humility is what the most important virtues you could cultivate and many people sometimes confuse

humility with passivity but actually humility is regarded as a strength, especially a strength of

character. People who have humility are usually the most confident people because they don't feel like they have anything to approve.

They know who they are and they carry themselves in a way that's respectful

towards themselves as well as towards others, always giving others the benefit of the doubt.

People who have humility don't exhibit a lot of arrogance or pride.

They just don't need to prove anything to anyone else.

And it seems to be a quality that is in short supply these days. I remember when I lived in Japan and people there were very humble and it was part of the

culture not to talk about your accomplishments and it was especially important to downplay your success.

In fact, if you were very successful people would go out of their way to bring themselves down to everyone else's level.
