Joining a Gym, Tittle-Tattle & Wild Swimming | The Emma Guns Show

πŸ‹πŸ½β€β™€οΈ This week marks a new chapter in my body recomposition chapter. After training with my friend and coach, Emma Storey-Gordon of The EC Method fame, I decided it was time to hit 'diesel mode' and join a gym. I've achieved LOADS with dumbbells in my living room, but to really see and feel those gains, I felt it was time to get to the gym, use the machines and start lifting more with a wider selection of weights. Who's with me?!

πŸ‘Ή I knew discussing diet, fitness and weight loss would invite criticism and nastiness but this episode marks the last time we'll talk about it. From now on, it's block, delete and move on.

🏊🏽 I went on the most incredible trip with OSKIA last week and, among other things, went wild swimming, which was an absolute revelation.

πŸ‘— In this video I'm wearing:

Mango off-the-shoulder t-shirt.

Hello, hi and welcome to another episode of the Emmer Gunn Show. Thank you so much for joining me.

0:13.6

It's so wonderful to spend this time with you. It's a day later than usual. And I have no good

0:20.6

excuse other than something was afoot. Maybe it's the

0:24.5

change in the atmosphere, maybe it's the moon cycle, but I've just had an epic clear-out of really

0:32.5

quite magnificent proportions. I don't actually know, yeah, I mean, there are some bags behind me,

0:38.9

if you're watching this, that I have piled up because my office was just a real mess.

0:45.3

Messy office, messy mind. And so I had a big old clear-out, and I am arranging, I'm going to

0:52.7

put those in the back of my car, and I'm going to go around to a friend's house and say, here, have some beauty products, go with love.

0:58.6

So that's why I hadn't been able to really sit down and collect my thoughts because I needed to collect my thoughts via a nice clear-out.

1:06.5

You know how I feel about clear-outs.

1:08.1

They are as physically restorative as they are mentally and

1:11.1

emotionally restorative and I clearly needed one, although I didn't know I needed one. So that's why

1:16.6

the episode is going up a little later than usual. I hope that you forgive me. But what I will say

1:21.5

is that we are on the weight loss challenge, the weight loss effort. And again, I know I keep saying it.

1:28.7

It isn't so much about the weight loss.

1:30.7

It is about body recomp.

1:34.9

If that was a really good, like, edited video, I would have sort of reversed, but it is not.

1:42.9

So I just pulled a funny face. So the weight loss effort,

1:48.1

this is about body recomp. This is about losing body fat and gaining lean muscle. Now, losing weight

1:55.4

at the same time, it's actually, it's possible, but it makes it slightly more difficult to do that body recomp, because when you

2:04.0

lose weight, often it is muscle that you lose. So to still lose weight whilst maintaining or

2:08.7

increasing muscle mass is actually slightly more challenging. I didn't quite realize that when I set
