This episode is brought to you by a migraine. If it feels all over the place, it's because I'm all over the place today thanks to a humdinger of a migraine that's left me feeling like a slightly lopsided, cloth-tongued, weepy-eyed wimp.
With that said, there are things to discuss. Such as the reaction to my weight loss, why I want to defend Jeremy Clarkson and why being slightly 'perfect' online gets more engagement. From the woman who this afternoon posted a 'fashion' reel on Instagram with smudged eye makeup and her glasses on because of aforementioned migraine.
Anyway, let me know your thoughts on all of this, whether it's on email [email protected], on Instagram @emmaguns or over on my Substack.

0:00.0 | Hello, hi and welcome to another episode of the Emma Gunn Show. |
0:12.6 | And in a slight change from what you might be used to over the last few months, |
0:16.3 | I'm not bringing you a video version of this podcast, |
0:20.1 | although it will still be published onto YouTube |
0:23.0 | and it still will appear sort of as video on Substack, just for consistency. But the reason I am not |
0:30.9 | coming to you in video form today is because I have a migraine. I nearly swore then. And I'm so disappointed because I've |
0:39.2 | gone for such a long time now without a migraine like this to paint a picture, because I |
0:44.3 | can't show you a picture. I, my left eye, and this is always how I know, my left eye is quite swollen. It's going through spells of feeling |
0:59.0 | like there's pressure on it. My left nostril therefore is occasionally dripping, which is just |
1:07.1 | gorgeous. And the other thing I'm really feeling at the moment is just a sense of, |
1:14.5 | I feel overheated. I've taken my temperature. I do not have a temperature. But I feel as though |
1:19.4 | I want to, and I might actually do that after I've recorded this, I feel a really strong sense |
1:24.3 | to just get into a cold shower and make myself as cold as possible. |
1:32.1 | Now, I'm a long-time migraine sufferer. This is not an unusual thing that has happened. |
1:40.2 | I have been so, felt so lucky recently to not have had nearly as many incidences of migraine as I've had. In the past, it used to be once a month, sometimes a couple of times a month, |
1:46.2 | and it used to be just, there's no way. And I'm able to kind of, at the moment when they occur, |
1:54.1 | I am able to kind of persevere at about 50%. It sounds so terrible. If you're a migraine |
1:59.6 | suffering, you'll completely understand. |
2:02.1 | If you're not, then well done. Well done you because they aren't pleasant. Anyway. So that's my |
2:08.8 | reason for not bringing you video. And it's also been frustrating because this was the week, |
2:14.3 | or the week just gone, was the week where I had made a deliberate decision to take my, |
2:22.4 | to loosen my grip on this weight loss effort that I am undertaking, |
... |
