Summary

In late March of 1943 four expat Norwegians, having received commando training in Scotland, cruised into a remote fjord on Norway's northern coast in a fishing boat loaded with explosives and supplies needed to complete their mission, which was to assist locals in the area in resisting the Nazi occupation and to destroy a German-held airfield. The mission quickly went south when a local marine shop owner got nervous and contacted the German authorities. Baalsrud was left on his own to try to escape the German dragnet, using only his wits and the courage of locals who were willing to put their lives on the line for him.. Kolker, Robert. The Fugitive.
