And I have to say, we have such a varied group of members as well.

Olympians to fun runners, ultramarathoners to park run regulars.

We've had astronauts, presenters, actors, lords and ladies.

And now, well, we can add politicians to the mix

because today joining the Run Pod Run Club is a woman who was the first female

Home Secretary.

I mean, talk about stressful jobs, right?

In 2007, just one day into a new job, bombs were found in London, and a terrorist attack

took place in Glasgow the following day. Anyway, she's now fresh off the strictly dance floor.

Oh, I bet it's a bit different. That little

intro that I gave you, my goodness, how the world has changed for you. Indeed. Yeah. Gosh,

you took me back, as you say, to those first days as some Home Secretary. I mean, I'd been a

minister for eight years by then, but even so, being made

home secretary was a bit of a thing and then being woken up the morning after you've got the

job quite early by your private secretary to be told, as you say, that there had been a, luckily

at that point, foiled terror attack in Haymarket, London.

And then the next day for the terrorists to drive their jeep into the front of Glasgow airport

was a bit of a sort of being thrown in at the deep end.

Thank goodness, nobody apart from the terrorists themselves was injured.

But it certainly made me realise what a job being Home Secretary was going to be.
