Summary
Iskra Lawrence (@iskra) is a model and self-care advocate who joins me in this episode to talk about her quest to help women feel stronger, happier, more confident and find their beauty from the inside out.
Her story is nothing short of inspirational; told she was 'too big' for modelling at aged 15 she decided that rather than changing herself she'd change the industry, and more specifically, promote a healthy lifestyle and body image.
In this conversation we talk about why it's so important to have a healthy relationship with your body, why practising self-care is so important, why social media can be a weapon of mass destruction, addressing self-esteem in schools and much more...
Iskra has been recognised as one of the BBC's 100 World's Most Influential Women, gave a rousing TEDx Talk about the need to abandon unrealistic beauty standards and is on a mission to inspire, which is where her new app everyBody with Iskra comes in.
The app is a new digital health and wellness platform, which will offer a range of workouts, meal plans and recipes, meditation and a support community. Iskra wants you to succeed, feel great and good about yourself and her mission is to 'work with you to maintain a healthy and positive attitude to mind, body and food.
