This is Skyler, and this is my new little project.

It's called Girls, Girls.

Oh, well, I wish I could tell you I'm a Motley crew fan.

My real inspiration for the series is my sometimes sorry

and sometimes successful attempts to mother my three daughters, which is maybe a little like

touring with a heavy metal band, kind of a shit show most of the time. But this podcast series is about motherhood, sisterhood,

and burgeoning womanhood. We will talk about sex, drugs, body issues, friends, family,

and anything else I can think of that girls and their mothers wrangle with every day.

We will explore insecurity, power, jealousy, support networks, and possibility.

My daughters are 14, 17, and 20.

My youngest is stepping into burgeoning young womanhood. My middle is about to fly the

coop. And my eldest is wrestling with so-called adulthood. But I'll tell you one thing I've learned.

It's not so much like the saying, little kids, little problems, big kids,

big problems, but more like young women, exponentially more complicated and interesting challenges.

Honestly, this is not the motherhood I originally envisioned.

When I was in my early 30s, my imagined future, if it included motherhood at all,

allowed for a very portable singleton or at the very most a tidy boy and a girl.

But three girls is what I got. I'll be speaking to experts,

of course, but I will also wrangle three mini experts, you guessed it, Phoebe Andine and Micah.

We will be producing this podcast series in sets of three, which feels appropriate.

We're going to start with some light fare, sex, drugs, and eating disorders. You know, this is a
