Welcome to episode 1889 of the Daily Meditation Podcast. I'm Mary Mechley and I welcome you to a brand new series we're launching into this week.

We have an important theme. In honor of May, as I record this series, we are exploring mental health month.

May is dedicated to mental health and this is an escalating issue all over the world, especially since the pandemic.

And in the United States where I live in particular, many people are struggling with mental illness.

You might also consider that with more awareness and less stigma regarding mental illness, many more people are coming forth and seeking treatment.

And this is the way to resolve mental illness.

As you show up for yourself day and day out here and meditate on the podcast, you gain that all important awareness that helps to improve your mental health.

Your mental health is connected with your physical health and you're overall sense of well-being.

And in each episode this week, you're going to start off as always with some valuable insight where you explore how to manage or prevent mental illness.

And you learn more about it. You're also going to learn ways to help loved ones and others you know who may be struggling.

Well, your challenge for this week is to every day reflect at the end of your day on your top stressors.

And then think about how you handled those stressors and then think about what you would have done differently or maybe what you're very proud that you did.

Always giving yourself a lot of credit because it's this awareness and insight that leaves valuable clues to help you begin to think differently, to act differently and to show up differently in your life which is going to enhance your mental health.
