Hi everyone. Colleen Patrick Kudro here with a quick introduction to an episode I aired several years ago and whose topic unfortunately is evergreen.

It's about tribalism and divisiveness.

And while tribalism and divisiveness are seen in all sectors of society,

it also plays a role in the vegan world

and people who call themselves animal advocates and we see it all over and I really do loathe the phrase we need to talk about compassion and

because we've always needed to do that, but it is true that we need to do that, but it is true that

we need reminders about what it looks like to have civil discourse and how to disagree with one

another without setting fire to our entire society. I'm rebroadcasting this now because I think it's timely, but I'm also rebroadcasting it because I am just finishing up the manuscript for my next book called A Year of Compassion. I do reference in the beginning of this episode

that you're about to listen to the publication of my book The Joyful Vegan, which came out in 2019, which is when this episode aired.

I am delivering the manuscript for a year of compassion to my editor, to my publisher in a couple

days, and then I am leaving for Northern Italy and Croatia.

We are hosting a vegan trip to Northern Italy.

This will be our fourth time there in this region and we are scouting for Croatia. We are half filled for our second
