Ep 134. I recently had a transformative experience where I felt called to lay down before bed and allow my “higher self” to thank me for all the work I’ve done up to this point. I had the thought to voice record the process, where I simply talked to myself and said all the things we never acknowledge or validate out loud but need to hear — not from the outside world, but from ourselves. Afterwards, I decided to plug the transcript of the voice recording into ChatGPT… and I was shocked at how valuable it was to not only have this healing moment and my own words recollected in such detail, but to have actual helpful prompts that made this like a therapy session with valuable take aways & homework. While I don’t believe that AI should be creating our visual artwork or writing our blog posts, I've found that it can be incredibly useful for self reflection and introspection and I wanted to share the exact formula of how I completed this process, as it was so deeply healing for my inner child to hear these words come out of my mouth. So this week, I’m sharing the exact therapeutic practice that I created (with AI!) to connect with my higher self. If you’re feeling called to jump back into a creative flow or are looking for a cost conscious, unconventional tool to help you in your personal growth, this is the perfect place to start.
HERE'S THE JUICE:
Why understanding Internal Family Systems (IFS) can unlock deep healing by finally embracing all parts of yourself
The importance of “talking to yourself” out loud and letting the wise voice inside of you speak with direct insights, appreciation, and advice
How to turn this self-conversation into actionable prompts that will further your mental health using AI
How to build better self awareness and why it’s necessary for lasting behavioral change
The hidden power of rest and why it’s just as crucial as productivity for person growth - understanding the path that got you to where you are may not be the path that elevates you to your next step in life
What exactly does AI have in common with talk therapy? Could it potentially act as a cost effective mental health tool?

Chat GPT Prompt:
I’m going to upload a transcript of my own stream-of-consciousness monologue or self-reflection, recorded during [insert time or activity, e.g., meditation, journaling, or a quiet moment]. In this stream-of-consciousness, [describe briefly what the experience was like, e.g., it felt like my higher self was speaking to me, I was processing emotions, or practicing communication with someone in my life.]
At some point, I [insert key moments, e.g., switched to speaking to someone’s soul, practiced a conversation I’d like to have, or addressed specific parts of myself using a framework like IFS (Internal Family Systems)]. At the end, I [describe conclusion or key takeaway, e.g., asked a part of myself to step back, envisioned a future scenario, or found closure on something.]
Can you detail everything that was covered in this monologue in as much depth as possible?

0:00.0 | Hello, hello. I'm not recording in my usual place today, not in my podcast studio. I am sitting on the |
0:09.2 | floor next to my bed, which is where I record when I'm doing an intro and it's spur of the moment |
0:16.4 | and I just feel really cozy and I feel like I have the right words to say to get it out. Or I film here |
0:23.3 | when I'm having like a breakthrough moment and there's something that I absolutely need to share |
0:28.5 | and I don't have time to go to the studio and set everything up or I just want it to be really |
0:35.3 | personal and intimate. And that feels like it's right for today's episode. |
0:39.8 | I can't get this out fast enough. |
0:41.3 | I have to share this while it's fresh because it feels so big and so important. |
0:45.4 | And I know that it's something that a lot of people are needing, as evidenced by the question that we got today. |
0:53.0 | So we just opened up Q&A voice notes. We just started |
0:59.2 | using the service called SpeakPipe where you guys can send voice notes to me. Instead of having |
1:04.2 | a call a number and leave a voicemail, you can just use your phone with the click of a button |
1:07.7 | and you can send a voice note right to us and we have a whole log |
1:12.9 | of them. And I'm going to start using these voice notes not only for dedicated Q&A episodes, but if I have |
1:18.1 | a guest on and there's a question that applies really well to the topic with the guest, or if there's |
1:25.9 | a topic that I already want to talk about in a solo and I feel like |
1:28.9 | your questions would add to it and just give so much more color and humanity to the episode. |
1:33.6 | So I'm not just talking at you. That's what I'm going to be weaving in your voice notes so that |
1:37.7 | you guys and your voices can be a lot more a part of this show. And for today, I was actually |
1:43.5 | going to just do a Q&A episode that had a bunch of |
1:46.9 | different voice notes, but this one voice note hit me so hard and is so related to a practice |
1:54.6 | that I did literally yesterday and today that I felt like the universe God just wanted me to share. So I'm going to |
