Maybe you've seen some mysterious posts lately on Helium 10 social media about something called Project X.

0:05.2

Well, I'm about to release exactly what that is to you and how it might be exactly what you need in order to find your first or next product to sell on Amazon. Hello everybody and welcome to another episode of the serious sellers podcast by Helium 10.

0:29.8

I am your host, Bradley Sutton, and this is the show that's a completely BS-free, unscripted,

0:34.6

and unrehearsed, organic conversation about serious strategies for serious sellers

0:39.8

of any level in the e-commerce world. I've got a serious seller on the line today that you guys

0:45.3

know, Tim Jordan, but you might be asking yourself, wait a minute, Bradley, you promise us you're not

0:49.5

going to have the same guests more than once in a year. And yes, Tim is my friend, but I'm not showing him favoritism. It hasn't been a full year since he's been on, but he is on here because he has a really cool announcement that we did this joint thing together that's going to blow your minds once it comes out. But actually, it is out right now. That's what we're going to talk about. But anyways, for all of you, my friends out there or previous guests, I'm not showing favoritism. Tim, how's it going? It's good to be here. I feel like you're showing favoritism and I appreciate it. So I'm just going to accept this as favoritism. You go ahead and think whatever you want to. I just worry about what everybody else thinks are. All right. But right but anyways Tim what have you been up to like

1:28.8

in the last month since we since we've talked um a lot it's been crazy uh you know Q4 is over and now

1:35.9

we're really looking into 2020 and kind of getting our bearings as far as you know what

1:42.2

changed last year what we needed different from last year and you know I've been talking to a lot of people at the first part of this year, really focusing on, you know, strategies and what worked and what didn't and what needs to start working better and what we can do to make, you know, 2020 bigger than 2019, which was a pretty big year in it of itself. So this planning phase, this strategy phase,

2:01.2

this is always kind of fun as we as we get ramped up for the year to come. Yes. And now this, this was something that, you know, this plan, by the way, I'll just go ahead and say the name because it's kind of cryptic in itself, but it's called Project X. And this is something that, you know, we kind of thought about, you know, in the last months of last year and we had this idea of something that we wanted to do. Let's talk about why we decided to do this, first of all, before we announced exactly what it is. But like, it was, I don't even remember if it was my idea or if it was your idea. I think it was mostly yours. But like, what things are happening in the industry that kind of like both of us decided that, hey, this is something that we need to do.

2:39.6

Yeah. So it is kind of weird when you think about how this all got started. But you and I,

2:44.5

and we can include Manny in this, you know, Manny Coates, we had this kind of idea and this opinion of what's going on in the industry.

2:53.4

And it's based around, you know, a few things. One of them is just bad information. There's so

2:58.7

much bad information out there. And it's not all malicious. You know, I'm not just beating up

3:02.7

these fake, you know, gurus. A lot of, a lot of methods are old. And a lot of people, you know, had great success in 2017. They're teaching the methods that worked for them, even though they're not relevant right now. There is a lot of malicious bad information. People out there teaching that like, you know, the whole Amazon game is a hack. And there are people that sell courses or sell these crappy software tools that they have to make it seem easy to make you want to buy their products. And there's a lot of people, you know, kind of being led astray. But the other thing that that we all agreed on is that the Amazon opportunity is not smaller than it used to be. You know, there's a lot of people that are worried, hey, you know, is it too late to launch a product? It's too saturated. Everything that's on, you know, Amazon is basically everything that's in the world. There's no other

3:45.4

opportunities. And what's interesting is several years ago, I started kind of thinking outside the

3:51.0

box and I started trying to come up with these new ideas and new processes and new strategies.

3:57.1

And I kind of got involved with

3:58.8

Mani, you know, many, many years ago. I say many, many, many. In the Amazon world, it's many, many,

4:02.7

but it's like three or four years ago. And these really outside the box thinkings. And as I

4:06.8

continue to develop and they just kept working, kept working. And I remember at some point last year,
