0:07.2 | Our title is Hard Lessons from the Life of Jacob, Part 3. Hard Lessons from the Life of Jacob, Part 3. |
0:13.9 | And actually, the message today comes out of Genesis chapter 32, and it's called, I subtitled it, |
0:20.1 | crippled and changing. Crippled and changing. We find Jacob here, |
0:25.0 | you know, in a middle of an enormous conflict with Esau. Now, when Jacob was a young man, |
0:30.7 | he used trickery and deceit to steal the birthright and blessing that rightfully belonged to his |
0:35.8 | older brother Esau. And so as a result, |

1:21.2 | Jacob in a revelation, God, in revelation through conflict. It's our, there's a lesson here, because |
1:28.9 | conflicts offer us a revelation, not just a possibility of reconciliation, but they, we meet God. |
1:34.9 | In huge, unique ways, we don't often like it, God comes to us and very painfully through |
1:43.2 | conflicts with people, and we often end up leaving with a limp. |
1:48.2 | If we allow God to do that work in us. |
1:50.7 | And so this great text, as you'll hear in just a few moments, we see Jacob allowing God to do a work in him where he is, in a sense, crippled by it. |
2:02.0 | But he's changed by it. |
