| 1:05.4 | Buddhist practice is meant to be a very realistic |
| 1:09.2 | understanding, seeing, acknowledgement of suffering, of our difficulties. |
| 1:17.6 | And to see them clearly, one of the ways to care for it is not to do so directly, |
| 1:28.3 | but to do it indirectly through the path of samadhi. |
| 1:34.3 | And that should be done carefully and wisely, |
| 1:37.3 | not as aversion to our difficulties, |
| 1:42.3 | but rather with a care for them, a love for them, love for ourselves. |
| 1:49.0 | And so the orientation towards pleasure is in a way it's done with a gentle message |
| 2:01.6 | that you care for yourself, you care for the suffering, |
| 2:04.6 | and this is a way of doing it. |
| 2:07.6 | And then to be modest in the orientation towards pleasure. |
| 2:15.6 | And when we first sit down, it might be to notice just the relief |
