I have the pleasure of serving in the Young Adult Ministry as a small group leader and lead of our events team.

Today's scripture is Proverbs 1 verses 1 through 7.

The Proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel.

For learning wisdom and discipline, for understanding insightful sayings, for receiving prudent instruction

in righteousness, justice, and integrity, for teaching shrewdness to the inexperienced,

knowledge and discretion to a young man, let a wise person listen and increase learning,

and let a discerning person obtain guidance, understanding a proverb or a parable the words of the

wise and their riddles the fear of the lord is the beginning of knowledge fools despise wisdom and

discipline this is the word of the lord hey everybody doing all right?

If you have your Bibles, go ahead and grab them.

Those will be our seven verses, but I will jump around the Proverbs a little bit as we go.

In the middle of your Bible, there are these five books. That's kind of what it looks like

in mind. Those five books are called the wisdom literature. They are Job, Psalms, Proverbs,

Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Solomon, or the Song of Songs. And really, those five books were given to us that we might

understand how to pursue truth, beauty, and goodness. Wisdom. That's what wisdom is,
