Summary

Be guided in a meditation to reinforce your goals. Rededicate to wha matters most to you.

This is part 4 of a 7-part meditation series titled Building Resilience, 3022-3028.

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE:

BRAG ABOUT YOURSELF

Spend a little time every day this week reflecting on your accomplishments and strengths by journaling about your successes. Also, select someone who would be open and receptive to allowing you to share your strengths and talents with them.

A DIFFERENT MEDITATION TECHNIQUE EVERY DAY FOCUSED ON A WEEKLY THEME:

You are guided with a different meditation technique every day that is customized for the week's theme. Weave the techniques into the most stressful times of your day to manage difficult emotions. The meditation techniques help to calm the "monkey mind," when your thoughts continuously interrupt your meditation.

Welcome to episode 3, 2025 of the Daily Meditation Podcast. I'm Mary Meckley and I

0:08.8

welcome you to day four. We are midweek in our series on resilience. And this week you are getting ready to

0:20.3

encounter the third week of setting New Year's resolutions and goals.

0:26.8

For those of you that do that, which many of you do.

0:30.3

And that third week at about the 21 day point is when many people let go of their goals.

0:39.0

Maybe it's distraction, maybe it is because they begin to think it's too hard or they just become

0:48.1

discouraged in some way about their goals and I don't want this to happen to you so this is a week all about

0:55.3

Resilience

0:56.8

Today I'm going to guide you an insight as always and then you're going to be guided in a meditation to help you remember why you created your

1:09.2

goals. Why these goals or resolutions, whatever you happen to call them, why they are important to you?

1:18.4

How will they enhance your life? And what was it that inspired you to create these specific resolutions.

1:26.1

Now if you were with us last week at the very first week of this brand new year

1:31.2

you know that you created a word of the year as well as a mascot

1:40.0

or a totem, something that is going to represent your journey.

1:44.5

And you could even think of it as an alter ego.

1:48.0

Many people chose, as I've mentioned, wild horses.

1:52.8

That was a popular one this year.

1:54.6

Also, for many women, they chose butterflies.

1:58.5

I did hear from a fellow meditator who chose a happy Buddha. She happened to see this statue. She sent me a picture of it and she

2:06.7

said this was the totem she was looking for. So whatever you happen to choose, keep it near your meditation space or wherever you're

2:16.6

likely to view it often. So many times we select something at the beginning of the

2:21.8

year that we want to focus on and then we don't
