Summary

Today I'm deep diving into the marginalization of black girls by way of the "boys will be boys" platitude, micro aggression and racism with my guest Rebekah Ferguson.

Rebekah is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 10 years of experience providing counseling in justice involved populations and making space for marginalized people. She comes from an extremely religious, born-again Christian family, so extreme in fact that she ended up being raised in a cult community consisting of a tiny largely White neighborhood in upstate NY.

Here is Rebekah's story of how she was able to break free and gain a sense of identity as an empowered black woman:
