The headlines, the protests continuing against the Macron government's intention to raise

the retirement age from 62 to 64.

How spectacular are the protests?

Right now it is random whether you can travel from one city to another because of the

trains, the buses, the transportation in general, and sometimes the violence.

What caps it all, however, and I welcome my colleague Simon Constable from the South of France

who's been traveling.

What caps it all is, we're told there is now graffiti smeared at the top of the arch-ditrium

in Paris that says 64, it's no, in French.

Making it very clear that President Macron recently elected handily and now in Beijing

toasting a champagne glass with Xi Jinping will find trouble when he comes back.

This is not clearing itself up.

Simon you've traveled in France, you went to Lemouch, we spoke last week which you tell

me is roughly in the center of the country.

Now you're back in the south of the country.

How is travel?

I thought very fortunate to be able to get a train from Lemouch last Friday, direct down

to Toulouse and then get a bus from Toulouse to Albe.
