CBS News, Dickinson College Visiting Professor as well as the CEO of Diamond Six Leadership

and Strategy.

NATO, Jeff is a veteran, not only of the U.S. Army, the Gulf Force, but also of NATO, and

NATO just grew in an important fashion.

The country is Finland, I've visited once in my youth.

A wonderful, generous people who drink a great deal of vodka, good heavens, keep a very

neat table.

And at the same time, I'm learning from the telegraph reporting, this is one military outfit,

good heavens, Jeff.

I guess I can say this is a legacy of the Fin War when they beat the Soviets so badly.

They were ready to take the Stalin's surrender before they negotiated an exit.

However, 280,000 reserved troops, 870,000 total troops, everybody between the ages of 17

and 60 is capable of handling weapons.

They receive routine training.

This is not a European army.

This is something comparable to, well, what is it, Jeff?

This makes our army look also appropriate, but it's competitive.

It's very competitive military force, and perhaps the most significant military partner

to join NATO since probably Poland in the early 90s, or maybe some even say as far back

as Spain in the early 80s, because you rightly point out a significant number of military

personnel, they still have conscriptions so they can quickly raise their force somewhat
