This is episode 1,883. Welcome to your daily meditation podcast. I'm Mary Meckley and I honor you for what you're doing for yourself as you get ready to meditate.

In today's episode, I'm going to share with you a meditation technique you can do to help

you focus. And this whole week, the theme for the week is mental focus.

So you are discovering a different meditation technique.

You can do as you go about your day or as you get ready to meditate to focus.

And you may be a little surprised by today's technique because it's something that is very difficult to do.

Yet it is something that can completely monopolize your focus and distract you for years in some cases.

Your technique today involves forgiveness.

When you hold a grudge or you can't let go of something, it's very difficult to focus.

In fact, you may find that your thoughts circulate for years around a particular grudge.

So one of the best ways to focus is to forgive.

And the path to forgiveness is a process.

It's not as though you forgive and then you don't think about the grudge

or whatever you may be trying to let go of.

These strong emotions can cause stress and you are likely to think about them every now and

Things may remind you of something that you forgave, but when you think about it again, from a stress

trigger or some other event, you can feel those same feelings of animosity.

So as you focus on forgiveness,

notice that it is an ongoing process.
