The Boeing F-47, an upcoming air superiority, sixth-generation fighter aircraft to be developed by Boeing

for the United States Air Force under the next-generation air dominance program, intended to be

the successor to the Lockheed Martin F-22. U.S. Air Force officials said experimental tests

have been flown since 2020, and the service aims to field it

by decades end when it will become the first U.S. 6th generation fighter. It looks like a flying

alien spacecraft, the way Hollywood likes to make them, and coming out of the cockpit would be a

strange creature who has ambidextrous

limbs however is this a genuine item they're going to spend a lot of money and my first question

Gregory is this the peak of American air defense have we have we got to end? Are we going to go all drones all the time?

Well, certainly the F-47, which has started life as the next generation air dominance fighter,

was touted as possibly being the last manned fighter aircraft.

That may or may not be true.

Basically, though, the trend is to be having smaller numbers of manned aircraft

operating massive fleets of companion aircraft, which are unmanned, which can be made to do whatever you need

in the skies.

It can network your surveillance.

It can network your attack capabilities and so on.

It's interesting that this is the first time that Boeing has got a shot at coming back

into contention as a fighter aircraft

builder, Lockheed Martin, had virtually locked that up for quite some time with the F-35 and

F-22 and the like. And the name selected by the chiefs of the Air Force, the F-47, the designation resonates as symbolic of the old P-47, Thunderbolt.
