It's 8 p.m. You've been perfect with your diet all day. And then suddenly, you're not just hungry. You are possessed. You eat the cookie. And then you eat the whole row of cookies. And then you feel like you have to get the chips, the pretzels. And before you know it, you've over eaten. You feel like a failure, and you think it's because

your willpower is just not strong enough, or you just have a craving for sweets at night.

Well, it's neither one of those two reasons.

So our bodies want to maintain something called homeostasis.

It doesn't want to lose weight, doesn't want to gain weight. Doesn't want to work

harder, doesn't want to work any less hard. Your whole entire purpose of your body is to keep you

alive and do that in the most simple, efficient, easiest way possible. How do you do that?

If everything just stays the exact same and there's no differences, then your body, it's pretty easy for your body to just maintain that. And that's exactly what it wants.

But when it comes to losing body fat, this is why when you are intaking less calories than what is needed to maintain your weight,

your body sends a signal and says, whoa, whoa, whoa, hold on.

We're not eating enough calories to maintain this homeostasis.
