What is going on guys? Welcome back to another episode of the Eric Roberts Fitness Podcast. I hope you are having a great day. I don't know why it just sounded so robotic right there in those first couple of words.

0:19.0

Actually, I do know why I was trying to write something down as I was as I was recording I was trying to

0:23.5

multitask which is not what you should be doing so take from that but we have a

0:28.5

Q&A today and we are going to dive in to some really good questions so we're just

0:32.1

going to go ahead and get started first and foremost.

0:33.6

Somebody asked me, Eric, what's your advice on staying as consistent as you possibly can?

0:40.0

And I think I have a lot of advice here, but I was actually having a conversation yesterday with somebody who had recently signed up for coaching with ourselves and our team.

0:50.5

And, you know, we were on the phone just kind of chatting about some things and

0:54.0

she was talking about how like she said something to the effect of like I know

0:58.9

it's on me like I know I have to just like commit I know I have to dial it in and like you know she was kind of taking that approach to things and while I

1:08.4

Understood what she meant I think a lot of people take an approach with their fitness where like you like you

1:16.8

you think you have to be 100% perfect 100% dialed in can't, you know, like some people won't even start like

1:26.0

coaching or a fitness journey or whatever it is because like they're having a vacation in six weeks or something like that. Or like they're going away this weekend or something

1:33.7

and that right there is the epitome of not being able to be consistent because you're under this

1:40.8

false pretense that if things aren't perfect,

1:44.3

then you're just not going to stay on track.

1:46.8

And inevitably in life, things are not going to be perfect.

1:50.5

And you're like, if that is always the case for you if that's always what has to happen for you to quote unquote stay consistent or quote unquote stay on track then you're never going to be consistent because think about it you guys quite literally the opposite like

2:06.7

perfection is the opposite of consistency you can't be consistent if you're trying to be perfect and vice versa, right?

2:14.0

Like, so most people, I think the number one thing I would have for you is you have to get set up on a plan that allows you to be consistent. So you can't get set up on a plan that is like meant to, okay, you're going to lose 20 pounds and six weeks following this super strict diet. even if you do it you're not

2:35.1

going to be able to stay consistent with it in the long run it's the opposite of

2:38.8

consistency and most people will do this thing where they're like,

...
