Today you're listening to episode 90 and I'm talking with Renee Washington.

When I was fortunate enough to be able to head downtown Indianapolis and sit across

the table from her and the communication director Susan Hazard for this conversation.

Renee went to Spellman College then Georgetown Law School where she practiced law in Washington

D.C. for nine years.

She then moved to Indianapolis and she was a stay at home mom for ten years.

But while she was doing that she got very involved in community boards and public service.

She was very involved in the junior league and she eventually started working for North

of Brooklyn in their IT sector.

Not long after that Max Siegel, the CEO of USA Track and Field asked her to come on board

as the COO and she's been in this role for over five years.

This was a great conversation with Renee where she really talks about women in leadership

and what her job looks like at USA Track and Field and what they do as a governing body

of the sport.
