Today we're listening to episode 89 and I'm putting out a bonus episode this week.

We're excited about this conversation.

This episode is with Ali Keifer.

Ali placed fifth in the New York City Marathon this past Sunday and as soon as I read about

her experience and who she was after the race, I wanted to get her on the podcast ASAP so

she could share her story with all of us.

So Ali had a pretty successful high school and a successful college career.

She even qualified for the Olympic trials in the 10K post college.

After taking some time off, competing, not competing, doing lots of road races, traveling,

taking a nanny job and then getting back into serious training, Ali ran her first marathon

in January of 2016.

She was actually signed up to run the half marathon and realized that that field was more

competitive and she could probably walk away with more prize money if she ran the full.

So she ran the full that day in January of 2016.

Ranner first marathon in 255, very conservatively and then a couple months later went on to

break a world record doing an indoor marathon with a time of 244.

You guys she coached herself and she ran a 229 marathon coming in fifth place in New

York City.

So cool, so exciting.
