I read a report recently that shocked me so much that I reread it three times just to make sure I've

got it right. In 2015, the UK government released statistics conducted by the University of Bristol and Children's Charity, the NSPCCC.

It stated that 75% of girls and 50% of boys had experienced some form of emotional partner abuse.

These were children between the ages of 13 and 17.

It shows that toxic relationships are not only experienced in adulthood, but shockingly in childhood

too.

And today's case is a firm example of how young toxic relationships can have devastating

and lasting consequences.

On the 31st of July, 2022, three teenagers were at a house party. Their names were Mackenzie Shria, Dominic Russo and Davian Flanagan.

Mackenzie and Dominic were in an often-on relationship. Mackenzie was just 17, Dominic was 20 and Davion was 19. All three of them had been smoking marijuana and hanging out with their friends. After 2 a.m., McKenzie and her boyfriend decided to leave the party. Davian joined,

he wanted a ride and they went to hang out at another friend's house

to watch TV. At 5 a.m., the three of them got into McKenzie's Toyota Camari. McKenzie was driving,

Dominic was in the front passenger seat, and Davion sat in the back.

Davion had asked her a ride home, something that Mackenzie was reluctant to do,

but Dominic told her to relax and to take him home.

On the way to Davian's house, something happens.

McKenzie's car veers off the road.

The car is travelling between 90 to 100 miles per hour, and it smashes into a brick wall.

A nearby CCTV camera picks up the devastating crash, and 45 minutes later, a man goes past the wreckage and calls 911.
