much for joining today. We did take a break from our Behind the Mic series this week because I've

been traveling a lot and my editor Emma is also on a little trip. She's camping in the woods. And I did edit this

week's episode for today, but I decided we'll just give it a break week. So no fear. Next week

we'll be back with another behind the mic series. So you'll get two episodes a week again

starting next week for the next probably four or five

weeks until we close out that series.

Today you are hearing a conversation between myself and Dakota Lindworm-Popen live from

the Bayshore Marathon weekend.

It was such an honor to return to Bayshore this year.

Last year, we did a live show there with Des Linden. And this year, we had Dakota join us for

the live podcast and talk about a gritty athlete. I mean, it actually makes perfect sense to follow

up Des with Dakota because those are two of the grittiest athletes I know and they've got

this like really fun cute adorable rivalry going on which we do get to talk about a little bit

at the end of this episode but you all know her and love her she is so positive and incredibly inspiring. She made her first Olympic

team last year at the Olympic Trials Marathon. She placed third and then went on to run in Paris

placing 12th in the marathon at the Paris Olympics. She for sure has an unconventional story as far as getting to where she is today.

She placed 36th at the 2020 trials and third at the 2024 trials.

Her path to becoming a pro athlete is one full of determination self-belief and having fun along the way
