My high school friend Mark “Mini” Morgan joins us to talk about his journey into and then out of addiction. Arrested for a second time with a whopping .62 cents to my name and homeless. Estrangement and despair come to mind. Divorce, heartbreak, disappointments, and darkness all seemed relevant back then. Today, I am a person in long term recovery.” Mark is now in a good place and works Valley Behavior Health as a licensed substance use disorder counselor. In his work, Mark is able to help others to recovery. If you are working to address and solve addiction, Mark’s story will help you. 0:28.3	from high school. We both graduated from Highland High School in Salt Lake City in 1979. We probably
0:34.2	weren't in the closest friend group, our immediate friend group, but our friend group intersected.
0:39.3	I consider Mark a good friend.
0:42.1	Mark was much of the spirit of our senior class, and as he was our head cheerleader, and I have so many memories of Mark leading us to support our sports teams.
0:54.8	Our high school basketball team once stayed, and I remember Mark being on the floor.
0:59.2	I'm looking at our high school yearbook picture, and it says, Minnie Morgan, tell our listeners how you got the name Minnie.
1:06.5	So Minnie Morgan came from my best friend in junior high, and I was the smallest in my class.
1:14.5	Developed late.
1:17.0	Wrestled 105, 105 pounds, my freshman year in high school.
1:21.6	So I developed late.
1:24.4	Well, and I think that was Lane Ferris.
1:26.6	So you've got a lot of good people that love
1:29.6	and support you. One of the cheer there is I'm looking on this page, I know the men better,
1:34.8	Dave Spafford's a close friend, there's Amy Nolton, there's Carolyn Cannon, there's a
1:39.4	thereth there, and there's Jay Aldus. So it brings back memories to see all six of those.
1:45.7	Mark is going to share his journey with addiction that led to divorce, heartbreak, disappointments.
1:52.8	20 years, one years ago, he was at Rock Bottom, and he's in a good place now.
