Summary

Known across South Africa as The Comrades King, Bruce Fordyce won the iconic ultra marathon nine times between 1981 and 1990. During this time he also set the world 50 mile road record, won the London to Brighton ultra marathon three times and became world 100km champion, setting the then world record of 6:25 in the process. This week we also catch up with Tony, hear from Liz, answer questions, talk racing and moan about being ill!

Tom, how are you? Well the last week for me has been a game of two halves I think.

The first week, first half start off great. I chatted to Bruce Ford Ice which was just

amazing. I really, really enjoyed it. I hope the listeners get a lot from it because it was just such a fascinating insight into an amazing athlete.

And then we came down to Paul and had a great time with you guys down and pool and went for runs and played with

rubs and helped out races and it was really good.

And I came back obviously yesterday and then last night I went to bed really early, feeling

you know a bit tired but I thought I have a good night to sleep and feel great

woke up at one o'clock in the morning with an earache spent the rest of the night in

a and e and at about six o'clock this morning my ear drum burst into a thousand

pieces and I spent all day lying in bed with gunk coming out of it.
