Today I am bringing you a bonus episode that I am super excited about.

This is episode 359 and my guest is Kira Demato, who just recently broke the American record

in the marathon in Houston running a time of 21912.

This was a record that is a huge deal. I mean all American records are a huge deal, but

this was a record held by Dina Caster since 2006 at the London Marathon. And to see Kira

break this record was truly a phenomenal and inspirational situation.

I don't know how long you have been following Kira's story, but you first heard from Kira

on this podcast in January of 2020 right after she had ran a 234 in Berlin. That was episode

216. She's since been on two other times, episode 244, which is a really fun episode.

We did that. It was a fun Friday episode right after the pandemic began and then she came

on again, episode 293 after she ran a 222.56 at the marathon project for the seventh fastest

all time American marathon time. Okay, so now she's got the fastest. She's got the fastest.

Kira is a realtor. She's the mom of two. She is sponsored by Nike, which is a fairly recent

partnership. And in this episode, we talk about her new record. We talk about her training,

her coach, and what all this means to her. The reason this is a bonus episode is I originally

recorded this yesterday on Instagram. I've been doing some really fun Instagram live

interviews, just a different way to do interviews and have been having fun with those post-race
