Today's episode is episode 358 and my guest is Hayden Hawks.

If you are into the world of ultra running at all or follow it at all, you definitely know who Hayden

name them all but to name a few he holds the course record at the JFK 50 Miler first place

there in 2020 in a time of 51840. He's won the Chuck and Hunt 50K. We've had the race director

Chrissy male on this podcast. The broken arrow Sky Race 52K, Black Canyon 100K, the North

Face Lavorado Ultra Trail 120K, UTMBCCC, First Place and Course Record in 2017, Moab Red Hot 55K,

and in 2016 when he just started dipping his toes into the world of mountain running and ultra running,

he was on the mountain running world championship team which was the first time in USA history.

A very big deal. In this episode we talk about his breakout race in 2016 when he

signed up for the speed goat 50K like one day before the race and ended up winning the whole thing

which is crazy. We talk about western states. He ran western states last year and did not

have the race he desired but he has worked on all those things that he thinks led to the problems

at the end the very end of that race and he's gone after again this year. Hayden is the father of

two. He's also a coach and he has like such an amazing mindset and the joy that you can feel from

him when he talks about what running does for his life is contagious. You'll feel it too.

He started off in his running career as a fast road runner. I mean he has a sub 14 minute 5K PR.

He ran for Southern Utah University that's where he met his wife we get to hear all about that

in this episode as well and what his big dreams and goals are for this year next year and beyond.
