sex and marriage and today on our to love honor and vacuum podcast I would like to

talk about the economics of sex now don't worry I'm not talking about

prostitution or about anything gross like that, okay? I just want to talk about some economic

theories that can help us figure out how much sex we're actually going to have.

I personally find this stuff super fun. I'm a major economics nerd and so I hope that you

will take this little rump with me and enjoy it too as we as we discuss what demand and

supply curves have to do with how much you're

going to be having sex okay so bear with me here I have actually taken economics

101 three times in my life I've taken some higher level economics courses as well, but I had to take economics

one I went three times. So frustrating. I took it in grade 12 in high school and learned

it, loved it, had an amazing teacher teacher one of my three best teachers I've ever

had thank you mrs Richardson and then when I was in university I took it in first

year university except that it was basically the same course that I had already learned

but you didn't get to get exempted back then? I think you would probably do that now.

I think universities are a lot better at exempting people from first-year courses if they

took an equivalent course in high school but back then they

didn't do that. So I took the whole thing all over again and then when I did my master's

in public administration they made us take this basic economics course and I took it again. And so I have done economics

101 three times. Luckily I really really enjoy economics. So much so that when my girls

were homeschooled and they were doing some university courses online
