Hey guys, my name is John Kim. I'm a licensed therapist and life coach putting

self betterment into a shot class because let's face it who's got that much time

these days. I come unpolished, unrehearsed, on purpose.

If you're looking for more of a wine glass, you've come to the wrong place.

I don't believe that quote-unquote personal growth and self-betterment is just about acquiring tools.

I think that if you don't change your lenses, if you don't have the ability to see and feel the world in a different way, I think self-betterment is two-dimensional, and I think that self betterment is two dimensional and I think that if you don't

experience secondary change right change that is irreversible I think your self

betterment journey is it's flat you know and I think that a lot of people

read a lot of self-betterment books and watch a lot of videos take a lot of seminars etc and they

don't feel fulfilled or their life doesn't change because they just have a lot of information

right but they don't apply it to their life.

And they don't experience or read what I call subtext.

And that word subtext comes from my world of the when I was

a screenwriter but it's what's underneath right it's like when you when you watch a

movie or when characters are talking, whether it's a movie or play or book,

it's never about what they're saying, it's about what's happening underneath.

And I think that self betterment is like that.

So I don't know if it's because I'm 44 or if I'm on, you know, embarking on this kind of

of like spiritual journey but I know for me that putting weight

less on destination and more on meaning more turning my dial from judgment and you know where I should be in my life

and who I should be and all my wants to wonder and curiosity and

and accepting everything that is unfolding, right,
