Not a fairy tale, but a tragedy. A lengthy saga of twists and turns, shock and awe, but

ultimately of woe, of disappointment, of heartbreak.

Kent have lost their Premier League stakeholder. The people of Ashwood have lost their membership

of an elite group. Ashwood City were one of the founding members of the Football League in 1888.

They were just one of only a handful of clubs to have never been relegated from the Premier League.

They were, but they are no longer.
