Thank you so much for being here today. Today you're listening to episode 185 and I'm

talking with Katie Arnold. Katie Arnold is the author of the new book a memoir called Running

Home. She's the 2018 Leadville champion. She's the mother of two and this was one of my favorite

conversations I've ever had on the podcast. We get into all kinds of stuff. We learn a lot

about her life, a lot about the things that she writes about the book. She's also been a writer

for outside magazine for 20 some years and she has this gift to tell a story in a very profound

way. She also has a gift to run very fast and very far. I felt like I connected with Katie on a

pretty deep level in this conversation. We do get into talk about anxiety and I've been pretty

open on this podcast about my struggles with that in the past and we go there and get a little

deep there but then we talk about some fun running stuff as well. I really hope you guys enjoy

breast cancer is very near and dear to my heart. My grandmother had breast cancer. She then 25

years later had ovarian cancer and ended up passing away from that but what we found out was

when she had ovarian cancer that the culprit to all the cancer was the fact that she was positive

for the Bracatouge mutation. So in 2013 I elected to have a prophylactic double mastectomy after

finding out I too was positive for the Bracatouge mutation. So all the research done behind breast

cancer is very important to me and I know that the Susan G. Coleman Foundation does so much work
