Today we're listening to episode 131 and I'm talking with Shadrack Bewatt.

Shadrack was suggested to me by guests Tim and Kiersten Richie who were on episode 123 of the podcast and Shadrack finished third place at the Boston Marathon this year.

We've talked a lot about the women's race in Boston but I feel like we haven't talked too much about the men's race at least I haven't been.

So he placed third this year and he really wasn't a dark horse because he actually placed fourth last year in 2017 in Boston and he placed fifth at the New York City Marathon in 2016.

He has a marathon PR of 212-01 and a half marathon PR of 61-24.

He lives in California with his wife and their two kids and after talking with him on today's episode

I can honestly say he's one of the nicest people I've ever talked to on this show and in life in general.

He's just got a really good heart and I think what he'll do for you today is help you take your running a little less seriously.

Clearly the man takes himself seriously but when he talks about the ways he trains and he talks about going out on the trails and doing a hard workout.

A marathon specific hard workout and letting random bikers just right up next to him and pace him.

I just love that so much and I love his mentality on the community of the sport.
