Today you're listening to episode 129 and I'm talking with Tom and Deb Gardner.

I met Tom and Deb around eight or nine years ago when I worked for Back on My Feet Indian

apolis.

Back on My Feet is a nonprofit that uses running to help people come to self-sufficiency

through the community and the commitment that they provide, people that are overcoming

homelessness and drug addiction and it's just a great organization.

If you haven't heard of it already, check it out.

Tom might be one in your city but Tom and Deb, they came to our first orientation and

became these super volunteers.

I mean they led a team, they were at 5.30 a.m. runs three days a week taking people to

races and just really forming an amazing community and amazing relationships with people who

really needed them at that time.

Tom and Deb have also completed the 50 States Challenge.

They've completed a marathon in all 50 states and let me just tell you, they started this

journey when they were like 52 and completed it at 58.

So this wasn't something they've been doing for years and years and years and wasn't

something they started doing in their 20s.

This was something they started in their 50s so that's really inspiring and encouraging.

And right now the two of them are riding their bikes across country.
